Constitution
Purpose
The purpose of the Athletic Training Club at The Ohio State University is to serve as a student organization for the Athletic Training major at The Ohio State University.Objectives
To foster a sense of community within The Department of Athletics and The School of Allied Medical Professions
To promote continuing education and professional networking
To organize community outreach events as well as service learning initiatives
To host social events with alumni and current students, faculty, and staff
To encourage athletic training student involvement in professional organizations and meetings
To recruit future athletic training studentsNon-Discrimination Policy
This organization and its members shall not discriminate against any individual(s) for reasons of race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, national origin, sex, age, handicap, or Vietnam-era veteran status.Article I - Membership
The membership is composed of 1) students accepted and enrolled as Athletic Training majors at The Ohio State University, 2) faculty and staff of The Ohio State University, Division of Athletic Training, and 3) alumni of the Athletic Training program at The Ohio State University. Although faculty, staff, and alumni are welcomed members, only student members shall have voting privileges.Article II – Organizational Leadership
President- Serves a two year term (i.e., first year as the First Vice President and the second year as the President); elected by the voting membership; organizes meetings, fundraisers, and other material applying to the club
First Vice President- Serves a one year term; elected by the voting membership; acts as President if the President is not there, must be a junior; assists the President
Second Vice President – Serves a one year term; elected by the voting membership; assists the President and First Vice President
Treasurer- Serves a one year term; elected by the voting membership; manages club finances
Secretary- Serves a one year term; elected by the voting membership; takes and distributes notes from meetings
Editor- Serves a one year term; elected by the voting membership; manages website; coordinates newslettersArticle III - Advisors
Advisors of the Athletic Training Club at The Ohio State University must be full-time members of the Athletic Training faculty or staff.Article IV – Meeting Logistics
Two general meetings of the membership may be required each academic quarter, except for summer.Article V – Ad Hoc Committees
Advisors and/or members of the Athletic Training Club at The Ohio State University may develop and elect “ad hoc” committees at any time based upon need. Terms of service of ad hoc committee are one year or until the purpose of the committee is met.Article VI – Method of Amending Constitution
Proposed amendments should be in writing and read but not be voted upon in the general meeting in which they are proposed. Amendments will be passed with a two-thirds majority vote of a quorum of the voting membership.Article VII – Method of Dissolution of the Athletic Training Club
Dissolution of the club may occur when registration is not renewed each fall term. However, elected officers may not resign their duties until all debts are paid and all assets are donated or distributed to other clubs and/or The Athletic Training Major.
